Types of Government Education Grants for College Students
Grants, unlike loans, do not have to be repaid. Many students entering college underestimate their ability to get grant money. Like scholarships, grants are the most prefered form of student financial aid because they generally don't have to be paid back. There are a lot of things to know about grants and we will cover some of those here. Questions often come up like, how do I qualify, how do I apply, are they renewed each year. Grants are often harder to obtain than scholarships. People also aren't aware that not all college grants are given by the government. Some are institutional grants. Ok so how do you find them and what are the answers to the questions above? You should start by learning about major ones to see if they are available to you. Then do some searching on not so publicly-known grants, and find a grant directory.
